Orlando, Fla. – The Lane/DRMP Design-Build Team’s US 17-92 Interchange at SR 436 Design-Build project was awarded the 2016 Florida Transportation Builders’ Association, Inc. (FTBA) Best in Construction Bridge Award. The $22 million project, owned by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Five, was judged on three categories: unusual features, innovative construction and the quality of the materials used for construction.
Through close and extensive coordination between the Lane/DRMP Design-Build Team and other major project stakeholders, FDOT District Five and the City of Casselberry, the project was designed and constructed with a $2 million savings to the FDOT and tax payers and was delivered 30 days before schedule. The intersection improvements project has made a large impact on the 100,000 daily commuters that travel the corridor with the flyover bridge drastically decreasing an average of five to 10 minutes in commute time |
