At DRMP Since:
“I like that I can have a great career and spend quality time with my family because DRMP has a culture of work/life balance.”
What inspired you to choose your career path?
I began working in the heavy highway construction industry because of my father. He owned a small company that worked on Florida Department of Transportation projects. Initially I began working in the industry because I felt like it was expected of me to continue in my father’s footsteps, but as the years went on I began to love the industry and truly enjoy my job.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
My favorite thing is showing up every morning and knowing the project is progressing even if it still looks the same as yesterday.
What are you most passionate about?
I am very passionate about my family. I love spending time with them making memories and then reminiscing about those memories as the years go on.
What is your greatest challenge?
There are so many challenging things in life, but currently my wife is pregnant with our first kid and I would have to say prepping for a child has been a very educational and stressful experience. Unlike my job, there are no blueprints on how this is supposed to go.
Name an important "lessons learned" moment you have experienced.
Working as a CEI, I document everything. I have verbally told others corrections that would need to be made on a jobsite, and those corrections wouldn’t be made and I had no proof of my actions. So now, even if I verbally tell someone a correction, I always follow up with an email.
