“I love that I can see my work around town knowing I had something to do with enhancing my community."
What inspired you to choose your career path?
I always wanted to build things when I was younger. My mother would not buy Legos so I had to be creative in how I was able to build things. When I went to high school I participated in the Bridge Building competition at the nearby community college and placed. I knew I wanted to be involved in the designing of our surroundings. Once I got to college it was easy to see that transportation design was my path.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the fact that I am able to do what I have been enjoying my whole life. Now it’s more serious and at a faster pace, but the overall experience of how things come together has made me fall in love with the job.
What are you most passionate about?
I am very passionate about being healthy. Not only with my physical health but with relationships as well. I think that being the best person that you can be involves being physically healthy as well as keeping the ones that you love close. So in my free time I surround myself with the people I love.
What is your greatest challenge?
My greatest challenge is myself. The only way that I cannot get through something is if I am not prepared for it. Otherwise I can accomplish it.
Name an important "lessons learned" moment you have experienced.
Never give up. Sometimes a few failures lead to the best possible solution, therefore giving up should not be an option.
