SR 60 Kissimmee River Bridge Replacement & Resurfacing

SR 60 Kissimmee River Bridge Replacement and Resurfacing was a multi-million-dollar project located in Osceola County, Florida. The FDOT District Five sought Construction Engineering Inspection services for this bridge replacement project.

DRMP provided the professional engineering services for this project. Work included widening the existing roadway and realigning the roadway approaches for the new bridge. The existing 2-lane bridge was demolished and removed, while the multi-span structure with a new 6-span AASHTO Girder structure was reconstructed. The new bridge structure utilizes 144-foot beams, 24-inch concrete piling and a continuous CIP concrete deck. The bridge spans the Kissimmee River just above Lake Kissimmee Lock at the south end of the lake. DRMP was responsible for contract administration, construction inspection and materials sampling and testing during construction.  

The Construction Administration provided assured FDOT District 5 that the project was completed within budget per the design plans. The new bridge provides an extended structure life to minimally impede motorists.
