SR 434 at Tuskawilla Road Intersection Improvements

SR 434 at Tuskawilla Road Intersection Improvements is a $1.5 million project located in Winter Springs, Florida. The City of Winter Springs needed a firm to provide Local Agency Program (LAP) funded construction engineering inspection (CEI) services for the improvement project.

DRMP was selected to provide CEI for the project, which included the reconstruction of a new drainage system along a frontage road and complete reconstruction of that 1,400-LF road. The drainage construction included installation or modification of 24 drainage structures along with the associated pipe installation. Extensive installation of brick pavers, curb and gutter, fountain modifications and courtyard construction was included. The intersection of Tuskawilla Road and SR 434 was milled and resurfaced with both structural and friction course asphalt. ADA compliance was maintained and constructed. Erosion control and maintenance of traffic measures were also provided. DRMP provided all administration responsibilities, including field inspection, material sampling and contract Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance.

The intersection of SR 434 at Tuskawilla Road is now safer for drivers due to drainage enhancements. The intersection also provides an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for both pedestrians and motorists.
