Master Plan Update at Leesburg International Airport

As airports grow and continue to become the future of travel, frequent updates to the Master Plan are needed to identify future projects and funding sources. The City of Leesburg needed exactly that for the Leesburg International Airport and chose DRMP to provide environmental services.

The existing Airport Master Plan for the Leesburg International Airport was completed in 1987 with updates accomplished in 1992 and 2002. The Airport Layout Plan was updated in 2014.  To update the Master Plan, DRMP is primarily responsible for the identification of potential environmental concerns, permitting requirements and mitigation options associated with future development plans. The team is also addressing concerns and/or needs with National Pollution Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permit(s), and preparing the Airport’s sustainability, waste reduction and recycling plans.

The updated Master Plan will provide the City with updated knowledge of the surrounding environmental factors that will allow for more informed decision making for future aviation development.
