GNV 121 Parcel Formal Wetland Jurisdictional Determination

The Plum Creek Land Company needed a firm to conduct a formal wetland jurisdictional determination for an 1,800-acre silviculture site. The documented wetlands were disturbed and were required for the wetland boundaries to be reestablished for approval from the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

DRMP conducted the jurisdictional wetland delineation, coordination with USACE and Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD) staff, reviewed previous wetland surveys, GIS data analysis, prepared USACE Wetland Data Sheets and obtained formal wetland determinations from both the USACE and SRWMD.  During the wetland delineation, DRMP coordinated with USACE staff to establish a common methodology to delineate the disturbed wetlands on-site that resulted in expedited field reviews and permit approval. The project identified more than 600-acres of disturbed wetlands and the largest approved formal wetland jurisdictional determination for the USACE in Florida.

The identification and proper documentation of the disturbed wetlands gives Plum Creek Land Company needed information to make decisions regarding improvements, land planning and protecting the property’s wetlands.
