Hunter’s Springs Seagrass Mapping Survey

The City of Crystal River, Florida needed an environmental firm to determine the effects of dredging the boat access channel to the Hunter's Springs Park as part of scheduled improvements to the park and provide greater clearance for boating activities.

DRMP biologists/divers conducted seagrass surveys by established underwater transects to photograph and map seagrass bed locations within the project area to determine the degree of impact the resources would incur.

As a result of this effort, DRMP was retained by the City to obtain the necessary permits through Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the US Army Corps of Engineers to carry the project to completion.
