Wellfield Wetlands Monitoring Program

The City of Titusville, Florida needed an environmental team to develop a wellfield management plan and to assist the City in renewing its Consumptive Use Permit.

DRMP was contracted by the City of Titusville to do the wetland monitoring service. To renew the Consumptive Use Permit, the City was required to assess the wetlands within their two wellfields and develop a monitoring program.  DRMP developed a hydrologic and vegetative monitoring program to assess potential impacts of groundwater drawdown on wetlands. These methods, along with an extensive groundwater monitoring network, were used to provide the City with relevant data on wetland changes while maintaining permit compliance.  DRMP also developed mitigation alternatives to offset impacts from groundwater withdrawal.

A renewed Consumptive Use Permit was acquired for the City, and DRMP’s documentation provided extensive information for future environmentally friendly decision making. The wetland provides a valuable habitat for various wildlife throughout the region.
