Gainesville Nissan

Gainesville Nissan (TT of Alachua) sought civil engineering services for a major expansion project. DRMP was responsible for providing the professional services. One major challenge of the project was designing a phasing plan for the dealership to remain open during all phases of the construction. The project also posed some environmental concerns.

DRMP provided civil engineering design and permitting for the addition of a 36,000-SF office building and garage for the Gainesville Nissan Car Dealership. A 466-space parking/inventory lot was also added.  With thorough coordination, DRMP staff was able to secure permitting and worked with Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) and the City’s Urban Forestry Inspector to design around existing trees.

Because of DRMP’s phasing plan, the dealership remained in operation during construction. The project was awarded the City of Gainesville’s Beautification Board Award in the commercial category for DRMP’s innovative parking layout that maximized parking and allowed for required street trees.
