Aqua at Millenia

DRMP was chosen by a major Central Florida development company to provide civil/site infrastructure development for their proposed 300-unit luxury housing complex.  Challenges included providing an adequate supply of water for fire protection for the parking garage (located at the center of the complex); as well as providing for fire truck access without diminishing the livability (swimming pool, landscaping, etc.,) of the grounds and courtyards.  After the project had been substantially designed, an unanticipated change in ownership to Millenia Park, LTD occurred.  Ultimately the project totaled 329-units, and DRMP was retained to see it through to completion.  In addition, a lift station and force main were added to the project, as well as a footbridge across Shingle Creek.

DRMP’s site development included a 700-foot roadway extension of the main thoroughfare for the complex, a 4-lane curb and gutter section and 12-inch potable and 8-inch reclaimed watermain extensions. The site plan also included a lift station with a 3,700-LF of force main including a 12-inch directional drill under Shingle Creek.  In addition to the network of pedestrian sidewalk, this project included 1,600-LF of a 10-foot wide multi-use trail along Shingle Creek and a 100-foot steel pedestrian bridge over Shingle Creek, providing this development with a unique amenity – direct pedestrian access to the Mall at Millenia.  DRMP’s thorough coordination and permitting with City of Orlando, Orange County, Florida Department of Environmental Protection and South Florida Water Management District to help this project to stay on deadline.
