Escribano Point

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) needed a firm to provide professional engineering services to design several elements that would improve operations and environmental restoration within the Escribano Wildlife Management Area. The park is an impacted sensitive area on their property in Santa Rosa County, Florida.

DRMP was responsible for a new maintenance shop that would provide a safe location for staff to conduct repairs, servicing and storage of equipment. The DRMP team considered the unique need to maintain 100 percent solar and local generators as a power source. The project also required hydrologic restoration design as a NRDA funded project that included addition of culverts and bridges and demolition of several logging roads that would restore historical hydrologic conditions on the site.

DRMP's design of shoreline embankment stabilization was to protect an existing campground site from wave action erosion.  Services included design, permitting and coordination with FWC staff responsible for creating new oyster beds.
