SW 8th Avenue Multi-Use Trail

Alachua County, Florida needed professional engineering services provided for the design of a multi-use trail. The project posed issues of utility location and stormwater movement to proper facilities.

DRMP was selected to provide the design and permitting of the stormwater system for approximately 2-miles of multi-use pathway along the southside of SW 8th Avenue from SW 122nd Street to SW 91st Street. The path consists of 6-foot to 8-foot wide asphalt trail. The design incorporated utility relocations and stormwater treatment/conveyance within a narrow right-of-way without the need for off-site easements. The project was Florida Department of Transportation Local Agency Program (LAP) funded.

The path provides the surrounding community a recreational source to get outdoors and enjoy nature. It was completed on time and within budget.
