Surveying & Mapping
At DRMP Since:
“If I were to reflect on my progression at DRMP, it always involved a great mentor/colleague that helped me get there. There’s always someone available and willing to help you be successful.”
What inspired you to choose your career path?
I have always enjoyed being in the great outdoors so Surveying and Mapping was a natural career choice for me.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The opportunity to be at the forefront of a project before any groundbreaking occurs and being an integral part as it progresses through all phases and the satisfaction of seeing the final results.
What are you most passionate about?
Personally I am most passionate about my family and professionally I am passionate about seeing a project through to the end and getting it done on time and in budget while providing the most accurate data possible.
What is your greatest challenge?
My greatest challenge was moving from the field to the office to supervise a team of former peers and focusing on all the current projects rather than just one project at a time.
Name an important "lessons learned" moment you have experienced.
A lessons learned moment for me was when I first moved into the office and was struggling to keep all the crews organized and moving forward on their projects. I learned to stay focused on the bigger picture and to mentor and encourage each crew to be more efficient and organized. Now I try to ingrain these values in each crew member so that it is our culture and the way we approach our daily work.
