At DRMP Since:
“I work in a great work environment with great people. That makes all the difference.”
What inspired you to choose your career path?
My brothers. Originally I was studying Computer Science and they were already studying to be engineers in Aerospace and Electrical Engineering. They recommended Civil Engineering to me and I have loved it ever since.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The people and the environment. I learned early on that the environment and the people can make you have the best job in the world. I also like the variety in each project.
What are you most passionate about?
My friends and family. Anyone who knows me, knows that I would do everything in my power to help and take care of my friends and family.
What is your greatest challenge?
Always estimating how fast I can do a task. I always estimate a task that I will perform as though I will only focus on the task at hand. This becomes a hurdle for me because I don’t know of unexpected complications with the task that has been requested of me and I forget that even though the task may appear simple there are always possible complications that task may have.
Name an important "lessons learned" moment you have experienced.
Learning to estimate buffers into how long it may take me to perform a task. In order to learn from this I have begun to track how much time I take to perform certain tasks. As well, there are always projects that come up with unexpected emergency needs which will distract me from the task at hand.
