At DRMP Since:
“I like that every day working at DRMP is different with new challenges to resolve and learn from.”
What inspired you to choose your career path?
My father and I had just finished installing a central HVAC unit in an attic when I received a phone call from my brother-in-law about a job opportunity doing inspection work. I was on the fence about doing it when my dad looked at me and said, "You don't want to stay here and do what I do your whole life. Go do something that you enjoy. You are smarter than me; go do something with it." I never looked back. I jumped into this career with both feet. I fell into this job that turned into a career that I love.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love all aspects of inspection. I want to know why and how it works or why it failed and how can we fix it. Creative problem solving out in field conditions is my favorite part of the job.
What are you most passionate about?
Family is what drives me to succeed in everything. If you’re not bettering yourself you're moving backwards. My wife and son make me a better person every day.
What is your greatest challenge?
Keeping a good work and life balance. Sometimes I find it hard to "switch off". Even on vacation I find myself texting or emailing coworkers trying to help with problems or just to see how the job is going.
Name an important "lessons learned" moment you have experienced.
You can't sit and wait for something to happen. If you want something go for it. Even if you fail, learn from it. Use that experience to better yourself, strive for perfection and do it again. Don't pass up an opportunity and wonder what might have been. That, and don't forget to turn in the original gas receipts to Accounting.
