University of Florida Sanitary Sewer GIS Mapping

DRMP served as the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data coordinator for the University of Florida’s Physical Plant Department for campus utilities under a General Civil Engineering Continuing Services Contract. The GIS team experts were tasked with assisting the University’s project managers and IT Division in converting historic utility CAD data from projects and surveys to a comprehensive utility network in GIS.

Web maps of utility service lines on campus were created to use for project data, inspections/activity events, and capital project planning. Additionally, the team worked on a campus-wide sewer line condition inventory using National Association of Sewer Service Companies Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program standards.  Sewer line locations, condition, and closed-circuit television inspection data was made available for the University’s staff to access from their desktop or a mobile web application.
