SR 414 Sign Structure Analysis (Contract No. 414-518)

DRMP updated the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) infrastructure on SR 414 to add Auxiliary Dynamic Message Signs (ADMS), Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), Traffic Management System (TMS) and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV).

DRMP Structural Engineers were responsible for analyzing six existing static sign structures for structural adequacy and the addition of ADMS.  In addition, two box truss sign structures, one cantilever tri-chord sign structure, and one span tri-chord sign structure were designed to support DMS and their associated walkways.  Finally, two TMS poles and two CCTV poles were also designed.

With the addition of the new ITS infrastructure, the SR 414 traffic flow and driver safety was improved.
