SR 429/Schofield Road Interchange Improvements

SR 429 and Schofield Road Interchange Improvements required the addition of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices to monitor traffic flow in real-time and notify the traveling public of critical incident/special event related messages.

DRMP was responsible for ITS design at a new full interchange on SR 429 at Schofield Road.  ITS design and plans production included toll plaza and device fiber drops as well as ITS device deployments such as Dynamic Message Signs, Vehicle Detection Systems (Microwave) and Data Collection Sensors (RFID).

The new system, designed by DRMP, allows for advanced communication of traffic monitoring and critical information messages. The Traffic Management Center controlled by CFX can gather any observed traffic situations and disperse them to message boards as needed. This ITS system will give motorists a more informed commute as well as provide critical traffic data for future planning efforts.
