St. Johns Heritage Parkway

St. Johns Heritage Parkway was a new alignment project located in Brevard County, Florida. The county needed a north-south alternative to Minton Road that provides access to US 192 and I-95.

DRMP was responsible for signing and pavement marking design of a new roadway west of I-95 with a total project cost of $27 million. The project started at the City of Palm Bay’s northern limits and runs north for approximately 5-miles before turning west to cross I-95 and ending at the existing John Rodes Boulevard and Ellis Road intersection. The project was designed with a staggered construction schedule.  The ultimate 4-lane rural facility was designed for right-of-way acquisition.   Extensive coordination with Brevard County, FDOT and the permitting agencies was required on this project.

The traffic signals implemented reduce driver frustration and increase traffic flow efficiency. All signing and pavement markings were placed after a considerable amount of study through the project area to ensure a high level of motorist safety and traffic flow capacity.
