US 17/92 Interchange at SR 436 Design-Build

US 17/92 at SR 436 is one of Central Florida’s biggest roadway intersections, the FDOT District Five sought a multi-faceted firm to provide engineering design services for this $22 million design-build interchange project.

DRMP provided professional engineering services for signalization, ITS and signing and pavement markings in support of this roadway widening and SPUI project along an urban area.  Project consisted of upgrading three signalized intersections to comply with the latest FDOT design criteria, fiber interconnect, replacement of TMS, and development of coordinated timings for the corridor.  Project limits on SR 15 extend from Prairie Lake Drive to Sunnytown Road.  Limits along SR 436 extend from Oxford Road to west of US 17/92.

The traffic engineering services provided for this project has increased driver awareness to the traffic flow. The large interchange requires very attentive drivers and DRMP has implemented several signing and pavement markings improvements to assist with this. Signalized ramps allowed for easy traffic flow between US 17/92 and SR 436.
