Goldsboro Community Gateway Improvements PD&E Study

The FDOT District Five needed a firm to provide transportation planning services for the PD&E Study for the Goldsboro Community Gateway Improvements.

DRMP provided planning and professional engineering services for a study which involved enhancement to local access and network connectivity around the Amtrak AutoTrain facilities in Sanford, Florida. The project limits are bordered by Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard on the west, First Street on the north, Pecan Avenue on the east, and McCracken Road on the south. This study included addressing safety and accessibility for all modes of transportation along the Aloma Branch tracks east of Persimmon Avenue that are used by AutoTrain operations.

The results of the PD&E study provided FDOT District Five with location design and concept acceptance for advancing to design and construction phases.  The study resulted in a community approved alternative that included the development of a new grade separated corridor across the train tracks.
