US 17-92 Interchange at SR 436 Design-Build Project Wins DBIA Florida Region Award

September 1st, 2016

Orlando, Fla. – The Lane/DRMP Design-Build Team’s US 17-92 Interchange at SR 436 Design-Build project was awarded the 2016 Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) Florida Region’s Best Project of the Year in the Transportation-Structures Category. The regional award was judged by a panel of owners and DBIA professionals.

Through extensive coordination between the Lane/DRMP Design-Build Team, FDOT District Five, the project owner, the City of Casselberry and other major project stakeholders, the $22 million project was designed and constructed with a $2 million savings to the FDOT and tax payers. The project was also delivered 30 days before schedule.  Once one of the most congested intersections in Florida, the intersection improvements project has made a large impact on the 100,000 daily commuters that travel the corridor with the flyover bridge drastically decreasing an average of five to 10 minutes in commute time.
