Chuck Smith, III, PWS Promoted to Transportation Environmental Manager

Orlando, Fla. – DRMP is pleased to announce that Chuck Smith, III, PWS has been promoted to Transportation Environmental Manager. In this role, he will be responsible for marketing and business development for DRMP’s aviation services and support of transportation design pursuits for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida's Turnpike Enterprise, Central Florida Expressway Authority and municipalities.  He will serve as a Project Manager in the development of documentation for aviation projects required by FDOT and the Federal Aviation Administration.  In addition, he will manage the preparation of permit applications and supporting documents for all regulatory agencies throughout the southeastern United States.

Smith joined DRMP in 2014 as an Environmental Scientist in the Environmental Services Department.  With over 15 years of experience, he has played an instrumental role in providing his expertise to win environmental, engineering and planning services contracts at airports and developing teaming opportunities with other engineering firms in the aviation industry. Smith serves as the Project Manager for DRMP’s Greater Orlando Aviation Authority Continuing Environmental Consulting Service Contract, as well as several Continuing Planning and Engineering Aviation Services Contracts at Orlando-Melbourne International Airport, Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority, Leesburg International Airport and Winter Haven Airport.  He is well versed in wetland assessments, federal, state, and local permitting, protected species studies, GIS mapping, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis, PD&E and environmental impact mitigation. Smith is an Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent with the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission and a Professional Wetland Scientist in Florida and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from LaGrange College.
