Big Lagoon Boat Ramp Wastewater System

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) needed a firm to help eliminate wastewater discharge from the Big Lagoon Boat Ramp facilities into a septic system near a Class 1 waterway.

DRMP engineers designed a collection and transmission system to redirect the wastewater into the local Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) sewer system, which includes an adjacent force main.  As a result of DRMP’s analysis, a new system and lift station were designed to handle the increased flow from the expansion. Services also included environmental coordination with the ECUA to decommission the Big Lagoon Boat Ramp septic system.

DRMP supported FDEP’s efforts to maintain state waters clean by providing solutions to eliminate potential contamination risks.
