SR 417 (Southern Connector) at US 192 Bridge Painting

DRMP was tasked with developing bridge painting plans for two bridges for the Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) to prevent corrosion on bridge steel plate girders on SR 417 (Southern Connector) at US 192.

These curved bridges were composed of both welded steel plate girders and AASHTO prestressed concrete beams. Design efforts included coordination with State Chemical Materials Engineer and maintenance to determine which hazardous substances may be present in the paint, and the appropriate removal methods.

The repainting provides cost savings to the client by extending the life of the bridge steel plate girders.
