In 2018, when Hurricane Michael caused widespread destruction in Panama City, Fla., and throughout Florida's Panhandle, I saw the impact of natural disasters firsthand. DRMP's surveying team was called upon to provide critical disaster assessment support in the hurricane's aftermath.
Providing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) services and other logistical support, our client needed us to mobilize quickly to assess damaged areas and support roads being restored.

Recognizing the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters, DRMP has formalized this expertise into a dedicated service line: Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Services led by Josh Norman, our new Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Practice Leader.
Josh has experience supporting local and state municipalities prepare and respond to disasters with planning, grant writing, and project management services. He has helped build a Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division for a mid-market international training company that specializes in organizational design and performance improvement. To bolster our services, we are adding additional staff with FEMA contract work experience to aid in more efficient turnaround time in the post-disaster recovery stage. In his most recent role before joining DRMP, he was a leader for Climate Resilience and Sustainability in one of the largest engineering firms in the world.
