August Thick, PLS, Promoted as Charlotte Surveying/Geospatial Manager

 Charlotte, NC –  DRMP is pleased to announce that August Thick, PLS has been promoted to Surveying/Geospatial Manager for the Charlotte, NC office. His responsibilities include contract administration and project coordination, technical oversight and professional development of staff, budget and schedule coordination, and quality assurance/quality control of survey deliverables. He will also oversee DRMP’s Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) program, which includes ensuring compliance with UAS safety, regulatory, and company policies, managing UAS projects, data collection and procedures, and ensuring the UAS program is running smoothly.

August started at DRMP as an Instrument Man in 2000 and was the first employee hired to be a part of the firm’s Jacksonville, Fla. office. During his time with the firm, he quickly progressed in his career to Party Chief in 2001, then became Field Crew Supervisor in 2006.

In 2017, August was promoted to his previous role as Survey Project Manager in Charlotte, NC and earned his Professional Surveyors License in 2020.  He also has a Part 107 Commercial Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) pilot license certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, which has been instrumental in supporting DRMP’s Surveying & Mapping services.

August’s knowledge and experience made him the perfect fit to become Surveying/Geospatial Manager for the Charlotte, NC office.
