Orlando, FL – DRMP is pleased to announce that Anthony Smith has been promoted to Alternative Delivery Design Specialist for the Transportation Division in DRMP’s Orlando, FL office. His responsibilities include serving as a liaison between the Transportation Design Department and the Alternative Delivery Committee by developing innovative ways to streamline projects to improve safety and efficiency, minimize project impacts and reduce costs. He also assists in managing workload and project schedules.

Smith started his career at DRMP in 2014 as a Senior Roadway Designer in Orlando where he served in that role for several major transportation projects, including the SR 528/436 Interchange Improvement, SR 538 (Poinciana Parkway) Widening, and the Wekiva Parkway Section 8 Design-Build projects.

Smith said he is excited about the design freedom the new position brings.

“In alternative delivery design, there’s room for new ideas that improve projects,” he said. “I hope to bring a lot of creativity to alternative technical concepts in the design-build projects that we pursue.”

This is a role that Smith has been performing for DRMP and it was developed based upon his hard work, said TJ Lallathin, PE, DBIA, Vice President of Alternative Delivery.

“Anthony excels in thinking outside of the box to make projects better, and it shows in the major projects he has been a team member on. He also has great working relationships with clients and contractors. Both of those skills have been the key to his success and will help him excel moving forward,” Lallathin said.
