Jacksonville, Fla. – Randy Tompkins, PSM, was named the 2021 Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Member of the Year for the Jacksonville (Jax) Post. He was given this award for his dedication and outstanding contributions to the organization. Tompkins has been a part of the SAME Jacksonville Post for four years and he is starting his third term as a Director where he will serve as Vice-Chair of Relationships and Recognition.

“I am extremely honored and humbled by this award,” Tompkins said. “I am grateful for the confidence and belief that the Jacksonville Post president and the incoming president have in me. Receiving this award was a pleasant surprise that made me feel like part of a bigger cause.”

Tompkins has presented various workshops for SAME posts across Florida and attended several national conventions like the Joint Engineering Training Conference & Expo (JETC) and the SAME Small Business Conference. He encourages others to join this organization and take advantage of the opportunities they offer.

“SAME is an outstanding organization!” Tompkins said. “This organization has helped me meet other people who serve and work with the military. I think it’s a great place to network with peers who also work in the federal marketplace.”
