DRMP Becomes Envision Qualified Firm to Further Commitment to Sustainability

January 13th, 2022

Orlando, Fla. – DRMP recently became an Envision Qualified Firm to continue its strategic initiative to deliver sustainable civil infrastructure services. Envision, established by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), is a framework that promotes sustainable planning, design, and delivery of resilient and equitable infrastructure through education, training, and third-party project verification.

The firm has a long-standing history of incorporating sustainability in its projects and practices and its Envision qualification is a natural next step. Now, with the new qualification, a growing number of DRMP staff members have and will also become Envision Sustainability Professionals (ENV SP).

“The big driver is that the world is changing in terms of our communities and our clients recognizing the imperative need for more sustainable, resilient, and equitable infrastructure. It’s our job to help them navigate the complexities of sustainability and being of more value to our clients and communities,” said DRMP Vice President Jim Beck, PE, AICP, ENV SP.

Envision will also play a role in DRMP’s Sustainability & Philanthropy Committee made up of DRMP staff and leaders, who will help guide the firm’s continued sustainability efforts. The committee will focus on client projects, DRMP’s company initiatives and community involvement to help keep the firm’s sustainability goals on track.

“Along with being among organizations recognized internationally for sustainability, the Envision qualification provides access to the latest information in sustainability practices. That will be an invaluable resource for our committee members in their work and professional development,” said Scott Garth, PE, LEED AP ND, DRMP Vice President over the firm’s Sustainability & Philanthropy Committee.

Not only will being an Envision Qualified Firm be helpful to the communities and clients that DRMP serves, but membership in ISI will make a lasting impact through collaboration with other members.

“It takes more than one single entity to make an impact. ISI is made up of a group of organizations focused on sustainability under one institute that can effect more meaningful change,” said Beck.
