Charlotte, NC – DRMP is pleased to announce that August Thick II, PLS has been promoted to North Carolina Regional Manager for the Surveying and Mapping/Geospatial Division. In this role, he will be responsible for marketing and business development, contract administration, project coordination, technical oversight of staff and their development, budget and schedule coordination, quality assurance/quality control, and growing DRMP’s surveying and mapping/geomatics presence in this region.
Thick started at DRMP as an Instrument Man in 2000 and was the first employee hired to be a part of the firm’s Jacksonville, Fla. office. During his time with the firm, he quickly progressed in his career to Party Chief in 2001, then became Field Crew Supervisor in 2006.
In 2017, Thick was promoted to his previous role as Survey Project Manager in Charlotte, NC and earned his Professional Surveyors License in 2020. He also has a Part 107 Commercial Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) pilot license certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, which has been instrumental in supporting DRMP’s Surveying & Mapping services. And in 2021, Thick was promoted to Charlotte Surveying/Geospatial Manager.
DRMP Principal and Chief Operating Officer Glenn Lusink, PSM said he has had the honor of watching Thick’s career blossom at DRMP since he hired him as his first employee in DRMP’s Jacksonville, Fla. office.

Thick said he is proud to have grown along with DRMP in his more than 20 years with the firm.
