Mike Hage, PE, and Ryan Mitchell, PE, Promoted to Office Leaders in North Carolina
April 4th, 2022
North Carolina – As a result of DRMP’s growth in the Carolina region, the firm is announcing the promotion of two of its project managers to lead its Cary and Charlotte office locations. Mike Hage, PE, Charlotte Office Leader will serve in the Charlotte office and Ryan Mitchell, PE, Cary Office Leaderwill serve in the Cary office. Hage and Mitchell have been with DRMP for nine years. In their new roles, they will be taking on the ownership of the office’s operations management, expanding their business development efforts for new client development, and leading marketing efforts.
Both leaders exhibit the hard work and dedication that is greatly appreciated at the firm by its leaders, said DRMP Vice President Jim Beck, PE, AICP, ENV SP.
“Mike has demonstrated a natural ability to positively influence performance through mentorship, commitment to continuous improvement, and digital innovation. His leadership skills and technical knowledge are tremendous assets to DRMP, our clients, and the communities we serve,” said Beck. “I am also excited to see Ryan take on this new leadership role. His collaborative leadership approach and diverse expertise will continue to serve DRMP and our clients well, helping deliver infrastructure projects across the region.”
Hage and Mitchell’s Collaborative Path to Leadership
Both Hage and Mitchell said DRMP has provided them opportunities to learn and support various roles and offices throughout the company that has given them the insight to lead.
Hage joined DRMP as a Project Engineer and has served several municipal clients, including the City of Charlotte and North and South Carolina Departments of Transportation.
By working at a regional office, Hage said he gained valuable experience in different facets of his career.
“Most of my career advancement has been with DRMP,” said Hage. “Working in a satellite office requires us to wear many hats, but I’ve been able to learn so much more this way. I’m grateful for the opportunities DRMP has given me throughout my career. I’m very proud of the team we have built at our Charlotte office and can’t wait to see our continued growth in the Carolinas.”
Mitchell started in DRMP’s Tampa, Fla. office in 2007 as an intern. In 2016, he moved to Cary, NC to help develop a Hydraulics department to serve the firm’s clients in Cary. In addition to his role, Mitchell will continue to offer his water resources expertise for DRMP’s structures, stormwater, roadway, and design-build projects. He said he looks forward to expanding and diversifying the firm’s presence across the Carolinas.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with many different offices at DRMP, I have been able to build great relationships with coworkers and leaders across the company,” said Mitchell. “I am inspired by the talent and dedication that they bring to their job. I am also grateful for all the help and opportunities I’ve had to learn from them. I’m excited about this new role and look forward to the opportunity.”
