Orlando, Fla. – Don Barton Jr., PSM announced his retirement as Chief Financial Officer, Principal, and Board of Director of DRMP after 36 years of service at the firm.  

Barton served as Chief Financial Officer of the firm and had been a board member for 22 years. He joined DRMP in 1986 as a Survey Technician and was promoted to Department Manager of the Surveying and Mapping Division in 1990.  He continued to grow his career in the firm’s Surveying and Mapping/Geomatics Division and became a Vice President in 1999 before becoming a Principal of the firm in 2000.  He has overseen the expansion of all of DRMP’s regional offices throughout Florida and North Carolina, which have been integral to the growth of DRMP’s service areas.

“I’ve worked in various roles here at DRMP and I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve had to advance my career over the years,” said Barton. “If I had to share advice, I would say be excellent in communication and continue to build relationships in each role you play – it makes a big impact in working with clients and within the firm.”

Barton contributed to the firm in many roles that he held during his tenure with the firm.

“Throughout his more than 30-year career with DRMP, Barton has been a part in the company’s growth and has worked to support the firm in the many roles that he has held over the years,” said Larry Smith Jr., PE, DRMP President/CEO. “He’s been a long-time friend and colleague and I’m glad that we have worked together for so many years.”
