Blake Bussard, PSM, Earns Professional Surveyor and Mapper License

September 14th, 2022

Boca Raton, Fla. – DRMP is pleased to announce Senior CADD Technician Blake Bussard, PSM, has earned his Professional Surveyor and Mapper License in the state of Florida.

Bussard started at DRMP in June 2021 as a Senior CADD Technician. Prior to DRMP, Bussard worked at a surveying and engineering firm for two years where he focused on Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE). Prior to that job, Bussard worked for a coastal engineering firm for almost four years and spent a lot of time on large survey vessels collecting hydrographic survey data and monitoring beach erosion.

“I have grown in my career significantly since being hired by DRMP,” Bussard said. “Prior to coming to DRMP, I felt like my career was at a standstill. Since then, DRMP has given me the jump start I needed and continues to positively challenge me every single day.”

Bussard has a Master of Science degree in Geomatics from the University of Florida, a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Salisbury University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland. He said it took considerable effort to earn his PSM license.

“The process was a long haul between gaining the necessary experience to even sit for the license exam as well as the many hours of studying,” he said. “They really make you work for those three letters, but it was very much worth it.”

Matt Floyd, Survey Department Manager in DRMP’s Boca Raton office, commended Bussard’s determination and dedication.

“Having another PSM in the Boca Raton office to help manage projects will be invaluable,” Floyd said. “Blake has worked extremely hard to get to this point in his career, and everyone here, including myself, is very proud of his achievement. His work ethic is second to none, and I know he will be successful in anything he puts his mind to.”
