November 1st, 2022

Stockbridge, Ga. – DRMP has hired Senior Designer Andre Murdaugh in its Transportation and Roadway Division to strategically expand its services in the Georgia region. He will assist in designing roads and bridges for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

Murdaugh, who is based in DRMP’s Stockbridge, Ga., office, has 22 years of experience working in the civil engineering industry. He has an Associate in Applied Science degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design from New York City Technical College. Murdaugh started his career as a CAD draftsman with an architectural firm producing electrical, plumbing, and fire protection designs using programs such as AutoCAD, 3D Modeling, Revit, and MicroStation.

Later in his career, he worked as a Civil Designer at a civil engineering firm. Murdaugh also worked as a Survey Tech II and used Civil 3D and Carlson Survey software.

He said the opportunity to expand the firm’s operations and its emphasis on growth attracted him to DRMP.

“One thing that stood out at this firm is the ability to easily connect and learn from people in various DRMP locations,” Murdaugh said. “My goal is to expand my knowledge of structural design and connect with new colleagues. I am excited to be a part of the DRMP family.”

Georgia Area Manager Mark Jones, PE, said Murdaugh is an important addition to Georgia’s staff and the firm’s growth strategy.

“His great talent and strong positive attitude, honed by his many years of experience in the industry, will certainly enhance our productivity while continuing to provide the excellent work product that our clients have come to expect from us,” Jones said. “Andre is a good fit for the professional cadre that we have carefully assembled in Georgia.  I sincerely look forward to working with him to help grow our business in the future.”
