Bloxam was officially sworn into his new role on Sept. 22 during an officer installation luncheon held at the Historic Dubsdread Ballroom. Rains and Ramos also received their scholarship awards at the luncheon.

Bloxam has been involved with the ASCE East Central Branch for nine years in various capacities, including as a member and Co-Chair of the organization’s Transportation & Development Institute (T&DI) Executive Committee. He also previously served as the chapter’s Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and President-Elect.

“I’m thrilled to be serving as President and hope to continue the award-winning tradition of the East Central Branch,” Bloxam said.

As President, Bloxam will oversee the affairs of the entire East Central Branch, which includes nine institute chapters, two student chapters, and eight committees. Founded in 1958, the ASCE East Central Branch has more than 1,000 members from six counties in Central Florida.

The organization’s outreach involves technical luncheons, community service, annual networking and social events, and other numerous opportunities to enhance civil engineering professional development. The chapter also awards multiple annual scholarships to local civil engineering students.

Bloxam said his involvement with the ASCE East Central Branch chapter and T&DI has been invaluable for his career.

“I have made so many connections with not only other consultant engineers but also with clients as part of my involvement,” he said. “It has also been rewarding from the community service aspect as I have been involved in annual volunteering opportunities ranging from Habitat for Humanity home builds, Ronald McDonald House meals, and beach cleanups.”
