DRMP Provides Relief with Companywide Food Drive

November 30th, 2020

Now more than ever families need support with the everyday essentials. That is why DRMP put together a companywide DRMP Food Drive this year for its community involvement week.

Each of DRMP’s offices was given the opportunity to choose a local organization in their community to support this year. DRMP is thankful to have donated several loaded vehicles of non-perishable items, essential toiletries, and monetary donations throughout its 18 office locations – just in time for the holiday season. Make sure to check out our community involvement video to see how it all came together.

Our Jacksonville, Fla. office partnered with Feeding Northeast Florida to collect items for those in need. Some of DRMP’s employees have volunteered with the organization previously and recognized the increased need this year.

“With the recent events that have taken place, especially in the Jacksonville area, it was important to give back to the community,” said Jacksonville Office Manager Tricia Milliken. “When I reached out to Feeding Northeast Florida, one of the responses I was given is that they were so touched by us wanting to give back to them because their resources have been depleted a lot more this year than they ever have because people are in need.”

Not only did we collect non-perishable food donations, but we also had some offices host a fund drive. Our Cary, N.C. office had both a physical and virtual food drive with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. In addition to collecting boxes of food, the monetary donations raised equates to 1,625 meals. This contribution helps those that may not be able to safely obtain food.

“It has been a very difficult year due to the pandemic, and it has been challenging for everyone,” said Senior Project Manager Chris Haire, PE, CPM. “With the pandemic, many people have lost jobs or maybe on a reduced or fixed income. Having a food drive during our current crisis is so important, it gives back to the community and provides for those in need.”

We are proud to know that we were able to spread awareness for each charity we worked with. By having our food drive, our employees, their families and other community members are aware of all the great charities in their area to work with in the future.

Having a companywide food drive was a great way for our employees to come together despite having to safely stay apart this year. The firm hopes to make an even bigger impact next season.

“I will take some comfort in knowing that our donation has helped feed many families,” said Office Manager Sonia Russell from our Boca Raton, Fla. office. “It raises awareness and the need to advocate for the less fortunate.”
