505 West Chapel Hill Street

A Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) was required for the City of Durham to redevelop a police headquarters building to a multi-use development compromised of residential units, office space, and retail space.

The analysis reflected the traffic considerations of each use as part of the redevelopment. Additionally, the development is in a high traffic area in Durham.  Several design recommendations were made to minimize traffic congestion. Those recommendations included lane creations, restriping, and signal modifications.

Once implemented, the recommendations will improve the quality of life for those in the City of Durham who live, work, and shop at and around the new development.
