Thermal Design/Comprehensive Campus LiDAR Collection

Under a continuing services contract, the University of Florida needed an updated design survey and underground utility data to support several upcoming infrastructure improvement projects on its Gainesville, Fla., main campus.

DRMP provided 137 acres of design survey services, as well as 600,000 linear feet of utility designation services to support the university’s future design efforts. Open areas and green spaces were scanned using an off-road all-terrain vehicle (ATV) with mobile scanning capabilities. DRMP also used GPS and conventional survey methods to establish the project control based on the university’s existing control network and other published control points.

DRMP efficiently provided accurate data with a map indicating the location of all underground utilities and adjacent infrastructure for future site improvements. This map will allow the client to make informed decisions throughout the design phase of its multiphase campus improvement project.
