Celebrating 2023 Engineers Week

February 16th, 2023

Each year, DRMP celebrates our dedicated engineers as they are "Creating the Future" through the projects they work on every day. In honor of 2023 Engineers Week, explore some of our most innovative projects and hear from the engineers behind the ingenuity.

SR 528/SR 436 Interchange Improvements

TJ LALLATHIN JR., PE, DBIA
Alternative Delivery Director
“The SR 528/SR 436 Interchange Improvements project is one of the best examples of collaboration in my 20-year career. It was an honor to work with the Central Florida Expressway Authority, SEMA Construction, Inc., and RK&K to implement an innovative and flexible temporary traffic control plan that accommodated more than 50 million passengers at Orlando International Airport, coordinated with over 10 key stakeholders, and provided CFX customers with improved safety and mobility.”

LISA MOON, PE
Carolinas Traffic Group Leader/Senior Project Manager
“I was able to utilize my 20-plus years of experience in ITS for the I-485 Widening from I-77 to Rea Road project which strives to improve traffic safety, reliability, and mobility by monitoring traffic conditions with real-time information.”

SR 397 Over Toms Bayou

MIKE ALBANO, PE

“As an engineer, successful projects like SR 397 Over Toms Bayou make it worthwhile, especially because we developed and coordinated unique ways to tackle this project, as well as minimized our impact on traffic flow and the environment.”
