Traffic Impact Analysis & Advocacy: A Strategic Approach to Project Approval
February 26th, 2025
Getting approval for a new development isn’t just about the numbers – it’s about having the right team to advocate for your project. DRMP’s Traffic Impact Analysis team goes beyond traffic studies to help clients navigate the approval process, address regulatory concerns, and ensure that transportation challenges don’t stand in the way of progress.
As new grocery stores, entertainment complexes, apartments, and other developments emerge, they bring increased traffic and, with it, more questions from local governments and the community about how these changes will impact local roads. A Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) report plays a crucial role in answering these questions and moving projects forward.
That’s why having an experienced TIA team as your advocate is essential.
A TIA assesses how a proposed development or roadway improvement will affect future traffic patterns and density, helping clients anticipate challenges and move forward with confidence. Our TIA team goes beyond just crunching numbers. We leverage our technical expertise of traffic engineering principles in combination with our consulting mindset to communicate our clients’ needs and expectations with project stakeholders. Our experts build relationships with stakeholders and advocate for clients to help projects move forward smoothly. No matter where you're located, we bring a combination of national expertise and local experience to every project.
Having an expert consultant on your side means having a partner who understands your unique needs and expectations. Partnering with DRMP early in the process allows our TIA experts to anticipate potential issues, keep projects on schedule, and reduce unexpected costs. Our team provides creative, cost-effective solutions to traffic impact mitigation and ensures projects meet regulatory requirements while aligning with stakeholder priorities.
But our work isn’t just about problem solving. We don’t just analyze traffic patterns. We stand by our clients and make certain their project goals are understood. Our traffic and parking reports are built on real-world data and balanced with careful projections to account for future traffic conditions. This approach ensures our analysis is credible, allowing us to effectively present and support our findings to local stakeholders.
Successfully guiding projects through the public approval process takes expertise in public involvement. Our traffic team knows how to present reports and provide testimony to help move projects forward. With extensive experience working with decision-makers, community groups, local stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, we know how to build support and get approvals. Through hundreds of submittals each year, we've refined a successful approach that results in high-quality documentation and effective advocacy for our clients.
Clear visual reporting and expert testimony are key to a project’s success. DRMP’s experience and commitment to achieving consensus prior to presenting our findings and conclusions makes our team confident in each project’s success before even approaching the podium at a public meeting.
With vast experience and a history of successful negotiations, our team understands how to interpret the unique needs of each project and develop innovative solutions. We strategize to achieve mutually agreeable improvements without compromising critical project elements. Our extensive portfolio of past projects allows us to reference precedents that can help streamline approvals.
A successful development plan starts with a solid TIA. DRMP goes the extra mile to make that happen. Want to learn how we can help? Click here for more info.
