FDOT District Two Bluetooth Travel Time System (TTS)

FDOT District Two sought a consultant firm to manage the deployment and maintenance of a Bluetooth Travel Time System (TTS) for the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (NFTPO) within Duval, Nassau, Clay and St. Johns counties.

DRMP has provided daily support for the TTS system through our continuing NFTPO ITS Systems Manager contract with FDOT District Two.  Support includes direct vendor coordination and training to refine the online reporting interface and identification of optimal deployment locations in conjunction with the NFTPO and maintaining agencies.  Required TTS device programming, pairings, reporting and field troubleshooting help achieve a goal of 99.9% device uptime. DRMP identified areas of beneficial network redundancy locations to increase device uptime due to network failures and developed flowcharts and standard procedures for maintaining the TTS devices.

The TTS deployed by the NFTPO provides real-time continuous traffic data that is required in the planning efforts of the District. This allows the District to quickly identify areas in need of facility improvements either via capacity projects or transportation system management and operation type projects.
