Creating Efficient Transportation Networks
As communities grow and technology changes, challenges in transportation and roadway infrastructure arise. Whether planning for future capacity or addressing specific challenges, DRMP’s Planning and Project Development team knows it takes a comprehensive approach which relies on our expertise, experience and our relationships with federal, state and local agencies. Considering and evaluating the human, physical and natural environment, DRMP helps planning and development agencies “connect the dots” by developing alternatives that meet transportation needs, avoid and/or minimize environmental effects and are overall positive for the communities they serve. Our experts know how to navigate the transportation planning and project development processes including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related laws and regulations as well as state specific rules and regulations. We have staff highly experienced in working with the Departments of Transportation throughout the Southeastern United States. Our Planning and Project Development team understands how to build lasting relationships that help advance projects.
In Florida, our team is well-versed in the FDOT’s NEPA Assignment Program where the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) serves as the lead federal agency for FHWA projects. We also have experience working with local agencies in Florida seeking federal funds through the FDOT Local Agency Program (LAP). We provide LAP sponsors with services to meet requirements and advance their projects. Finally, we also have extensive experience with FDOT’s state funded project development processes and documentation.
In North Carolina, DRMP holds multiple General Engineering Services contracts where we serve as embedded staff to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Our team serves as advisors to NCDOT staff to assist their staff in navigating projects through the project development and environment process. As the NCDOT has explored ways to improve upon their project delivery process, DRMP has served as a resource sharing best practices of other state DOTs for their consideration.
