DRMP's Sarasota Office Welcomes Erik Isern, PE, to Bolster Civil Services Team

March 4th, 2026

SARASOTA, Fla. – Erik Isern, PE, has joined DRMP as a general civil senior project manager in the firm’s Sarasota office, strengthening the Civil Services team and supporting the firm’s continued growth. This marks DRMP’s first hire for its expanding Sarasota office, enhancing the firm’s ability to serve the Sarasota area more effectively.

In this role, Isern will work closely with municipal clients throughout the region, building strong relationships and identifying ways DRMP can address infrastructure challenges on every scale. He will leverage his more than three decades of career experience to deliver practical solutions through a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Isern said the state of Florida is experiencing unprecedented growth, which is placing strain on existing infrastructure across multiple sectors.

“Whether it be transportation systems, water treatment and distribution, or the housing markets, engineering services are needed more than ever,” he said. “I see myself as a facilitator and problem solver to municipalities and contractors to develop projects which add value and quality of life to the communities they live in and serve.”

With 33 years of experience as a civil and environmental engineer, Isern’s career has spanned environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater remediation, and the design of water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and conveyance systems. He has also managed and inspected construction projects including water treatment facilities, roadways, parks, seawalls, and buildings.

Isern has spent most of his career designing projects for municipalities where he developed a deep understanding of municipal operations and the challenges communities face.

“I believe in a team-centered approach to solving problems,” Isern said. “If there is one thing that is for certain is that no one person knows everything there is to know about everything. We all need each other for growth, encouragement, and support.”

DRMP Vice President Scott Garth, PE, LEED AP, ND, noted Isern’s diverse experience brings unique value to the Civil Services team.

“Erik’s experience in both the public and private sectors, as well as in environmental, utility, and vertical infrastructure projects, gives him a broad perspective that is invaluable for addressing complex municipal needs,” Garth said. “He understands how all the pieces fit together, which allows us to deliver well-rounded solutions for our clients.”

Isern will also mentor and develop engineering and technical staff, passing on the knowledge and guidance he has gained throughout his career, which includes working alongside national leaders in engineering, construction, and academia.

What excites him most about joining DRMP is the company culture and the people.

“It is the company culture that sets DRMP apart,” he said. “Seeing so many employees who have been with the company for more than 10 years speaks volumes about its longevity and the career growth opportunities it provides. Why go anywhere else?”
