DRMP Engineers Strengthen Leadership Presence in ASCE West Coast Branch YMG

December 17th, 2025

TAMPA, Fla. – DRMP continues to expand its leadership footprint in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) West Coast Branch Young Members Group (WCB YMG), with engineers taking on new roles and receiving recognition for their contributions.

Drainage Engineer Natalie Snead, EI, has been appointed president of the organization and was also recently recognized at a group gathering with the events chair award, a role she previously held. Tampa Roadway Project Engineer Jacob Gonzalez received the membership chair award for his work in that previously held role, and Tampa Roadway Project Engineer Peter Badr, EI, was named the organization’s new events chair.

Snead previously served as the group’s field trip, socials, and events committee chair since joining in October 2024. As president, Snead is responsible for ensuring the group remains active and continues to offer engaging opportunities for members to enjoy, learn from, and volunteer. She supports each board and committee chair in fulfilling their roles, helping the organization uphold WCB YMG standards while continually striving for improvement.

“I think serving as YMG president paves the way for more connections to other engineers, and in turn, will improve my credibility in my career and benefit DRMP in the long run,” Snead said.

Gonzalez focused on strengthening member engagement and supporting the growth of young engineers in the organization while he served as membership chair.

“Serving as membership chair has been a rewarding way to connect with other engineers and help the next generation grow,” he said. “I’m excited to continue contributing to YMG’s activities.”

Badr brings his energy and organizational skills to his new role as events chair, aiming to create opportunities for collaboration and learning.

“I’m looking forward to organizing events that bring members together to learn and collaborate,” he said. “YMG is a great platform to give back to the engineering community.”

Snead said she was inspired to pursue a leadership role in YMG because she believes “it’s important for young professionals to connect and share experiences, and I wanted to help facilitate this.”

DRMP Vice President and Drainage Division Leader Don Brown, PE, said Snead’s leadership and dedication make her an asset to any organization she is part of.

“Natalie’s commitment to professional growth and service to the engineering community is something we’re extremely proud of,” Brown said. “Her leadership within ASCE’s West Coast Branch YMG reflects the initiative and dedication she brings to our projects.”

Bruno Arriola, PE, ENV SP, Tampa assistant roadway group leader and supervisor of Gonzalez and Badr, said the engineers’ professional involvement reflects their commitment to professional growth.

“Being active in professional organizations is a big part of growing as an engineer, and Jacob and Peter really embrace that,” Arriola said. “Their new roles with the Young Members Group show their drive to get involved, learn, and give back to the profession. I’m excited to see how they continue to grow and the impact they’ll make both there and here at DRMP.”
