DRMP Wins APWA Florida Chapter -West Coast Branch Award

March 11th, 2022

Tampa, Fla.  – DRMP won the American Public Works Association (APWA) Florida Chapter – West Coast Branch’s 2022 Project of the Year Award in the Environmental Category for the Gibson Avenue Drainage Improvements project for Hillsborough County, Fla.

DRMP provided pump station/outfall system improvements that successfully meet the County's criteria for a 25-year storm event after Hurricane Irma impacted the Tampa Bay area in September 2017.

DRMP designed and permitted a new pond, pumping station and drainage infrastructure to alleviate flooding. The new pond provides both flood control and improved water quality to the Hillsborough River.

Through DRMP’s efforts and work with key stakeholders, the firm was able to help meet the County’s flood management goals, eliminate flooding issues and improve safety, ultimately improving the quality of life for the residents of Hillsborough County.
