DRMP Promotes Powerhouse of Five Leaders to Oversee its Service Divisions
August 9th, 2022
Orlando, Fla. – DRMP is excited to announce the appointment of five directors, chosen from within the firm, to spearhead its service divisions. The appointments are a part of DRMP’s strategic plan to provide opportunity for growth and expansion of its services and to build upon its client base.
DRMP’s restructuring of its service divisions began almost two years ago and appointing these leaders is a large part of its success. In April 2022, DRMP became a cornerstone platform partner with the Trilon Group, a family of infrastructure consulting businesses, that provides additional capital and resources to support the firm’s strategic growth and expansion.
“As a cornerstone platform partner, not only are we anticipating organic growth, but we are also growing with the addition of several platform partners and a greater geographic reach of our service lines,” said DRMP’s Chief Operating Officer Glenn Lusink, PSM.
The firm has been working on a reorganization for several years, and now is the perfect time for implementing the shift, Lusink said.
“This structure will create opportunities for greater collaboration resulting in delivering innovative designs to our clients and their communities,” Lusink said.
The new leadership structure also will enable the firm to share resources to aid with employee work-life balance, reduce project burnout and elevate career growth opportunities, Lusink said.
“As we grow and become more efficient, we have a greater chance to provide the career opportunities our staff is looking for at many levels of the firm,” he said.
The firm congratulates new directors:
- Federal Services Director Kyle Brown, PE, joined DRMP in 2015 to oversee DRMP’s Federal Division after retiring from the U.S. Air Force. Brown has more than 26 years of experience in civil engineering, facility operations and maintenance, and program and emergency management. In 2021, DRMP’s Board of Directors elected Brown as a Vice President of the firm. Brown’s leadership and background have been instrumental in supporting DRMP’s federal services as well as its business operations in Florida’s east coast.
“My vision is to expand DRMP’s presence in the Federal market across all disciplines within our company along with developing strategic partnerships within the market,” Brown said.
- Surveying and Mapping/Geospatial Director Joseph Di Benedetto, PLS, joined DRMP in 2003 and returned in 2015 to become the Orlando Survey Department Manager. Di Benedetto moved into a Vice President role at the firm and served as Surveying and Mapping/Geospatial Division Manager in Florida. He’s played a critical role in establishing surveying services in South Florida and developing a quality assurance/quality control protocol for surveying and mapping deliverables.
Di Benedetto has also been pivotal in making sure the firm adapts to the latest technology that is rapidly revolutionizing the surveying and mapping industry. In his new role, he will continue to evolve and expand DRMP’s surveying and mapping/geospatial services using advanced technology.
“The professionals I have on my team today are the best of the best, and I can’t think of a better team to support me in my role as Director of Surveying and Mapping,” Di Benedetto said. “It’s amazing what we have accomplished in the last five years. We have been using mobile LiDAR, unmanned aerial vehicles, and several other latest technology tools. My vision as Director of Survey is to build upon our already robust team as we advance toward major growth and development.”
- Construction, Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Director Erica Jernigan, PE, joined DRMP in 2013 as a Project Engineer and was promoted to Senior Project Engineer in 2015. She became CEI Northwest Florida Area Leader in 2016 and was named a Vice President and a Regional CEI Leader four years later. As DRMP’s CEI Director, Jernigan will be responsible for leading CEI operations throughout the Southeastern United States.
Jernigan’s vision for her new role is to provide unmatched quality service to DRMP’s clients while maintaining the firm’s work-life balance culture for its employees in a post-pandemic world.
“I am passionate about continuing to grow the Construction Services team at DRMP while improving the level of service to our employees and our clients,” Jernigan said. “I will support our team members in meeting their personal and career goals while working to provide them with the resources needed to best serve each other and our clients.”
- Alternative Delivery Director TJ Lallathin Jr., PE, DBIA, joined DRMP in 2002 as an intern and started as a Project Engineer in the Structures Division. He serves as Vice President of Alternative Delivery and Senior Project Manager in the firm’s Structures Department. Lallathin has been involved with the majority of DRMP’s design-build projects and was named Design-Build Manager in 2013. He has worked on several award-winning projects, including the A. Max Brewer Bridge Replacement and most recently the Central Florida Expressway Authority’s (CFX) $118 million SR 528/SR436 Interchange Reconfiguration project.
In his new role as Alternative Delivery Director, Lallathin said he’s looking forward to building on DRMP’s success and working with the firm’s contractor partners to deliver innovative, cost-effective alternative delivery projects.
“My vision is to continue to win major projects in Florida by expanding our footprint across the southeastern United States and adding to our dedicated alternative delivery team,” Lallathin said. “That team already includes project management, business development, roadway, and structures staff.”
- Transportation Director Amanda Woods, PE, joined DRMP in 1997 as a Project Engineer and became Structures Division Manager in 2017 where she provided leadership including, oversight of staff production, client relations, and quality assurance/quality control. She has served as a Project Manager for major transportation and structures-related projects for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, the Florida Department of Transportation, and municipal clients in Florida.
“I’m excited about the direction DRMP is heading and the opportunity to lead all the transportation disciplines together under one umbrella,” Woods said. “We have an outstanding team of engineers, planners and scientists, and I look forward to serving them to build the preeminent transportation group in Florida and throughout the southeastern United States.”
