DRMP Promotes Don Brown, PE, to New Transportation Drainage Division Leader
September 19th, 2022
Orlando, Fla. – DRMP has promoted Don Brown, PE, to a newly created position as the Drainage Division Leader in the Transportation Market Sector. The move is part of DRMP’s strategic plan to grow the firm and streamline its services.
Amanda Woods, a DRMP Vice President and Director of Transportation, said creating this new role will bring the firm’s transportation drainage staff throughout its regional offices under one umbrella.
“This ensures we are working toward the same goals, sharing information and resources, and providing consistent high-quality plans and design on all of our projects,” Woods said.
Brown started his career with DRMP in 1998 as a Roadway Engineer. He later became a Drainage Engineer in DRMP’s Water Resources Division where he focused on transportation projects. Throughout his 24-year career at DRMP, Brown evolved into a Department Manager, Project Manager, and Client Manager overseeing increasingly complex projects.
Brown is a member of the American Society of Engineers and the Florida Stormwater Association.
“I am extremely excited to be in a role that brings the talented drainage staff across DRMP's offices together to share expertise and increase our service levels to clients in all regions,” Brown said. “It will open up many opportunities for staff to excel.”
Brown said in his new role he would continue to develop and expand a transportation focused drainage team by providing innovative and efficient stormwater management solutions for clients.
“My key objectives will be to promote forward thinking in our designs to ensure we provide solutions that protect the environment and public while maximizing our clients’ resources,” Brown said.
DRMP is a great place to work because the firm has always promoted opportunities for staff to develop new skills, Brown said.
“Working at DRMP has provided me access to some amazing projects that few firms can offer,” he said.
Woods said Brown has been involved in all areas of engineering including drainage design, plans production, project pursuits, project management, and as a department manager. His knowledge and experience make him the right fit for the new role, she said.
“He understands the challenges encountered in all areas of the day-to-day operations,” Woods said. “Based on his background and proven successes throughout his career, I am confident Don will be a successful leader, mentor, and advocate for DRMP’s Transportation Drainage group.”
