Executive Brief: January-February 2023 Issue

February 28th, 2023

The beginning of the year is a time for the A/E/C industry, and DRMP, to determine their “company outlook” – based on the economy, industry trends, and other data used to determine what drives their success or uncertainty. Where we excel as a firm, and other businesses often miss the mark, is making sure to include one key factor: people.

Our people drive our success and for DRMP the outlook is bright.

Last year was monumental for DRMP in joining a strategic partnership with the Trilon Group, which has no doubt sparked more growth for the firm. Separate from that, what is remarkable is the tremendous growth we’ve seen in our staff personally and professionally.

Leadership has various interpretations that are often anchored in a title. For me, it’s so much more; I see it at every level of our staff. Just to mention a few, Yira Cuello, our administrative assistant in our Orlando Survey Department obtained her Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certification, and Arnesa Zunic, our Tampa Office Manager, was honored by the American Public Works Association – Florida West Coast Branch as a board member and for her dedication to the organization. Pavan Paiavula, PE, our Tampa Roadway Group Leader, who has been elected twice as American Society of Highway Engineers Tampa Bay Chapter president, is another great example.

This is just an example, employees who have the initiative to engage in opportunities that the firm provides to develop personally and professionally to better perform their roles and position themselves in professional organizations that champion our industry. I am beyond proud of our staff that has the desire to go above and beyond. I can speak for the rest of our leaders in saying that we will continue to support our employees to pursue these opportunities.

Their drive to better themselves, and ultimately improve the role they play in DRMP’s success and in the industry is the major aspect of the employee growth we’re seeing, but so is our investment in them.

As our leadership and our firm evolves, one thing has stayed the same – upholding our mission to invest in our employees and our community. As you’ll read in this issue’s Featured Story, those investments make a big impact in not only making DRMP a better place to work but also in making the communities we serve, better.
